Womens Self-Offense

Everyone,

I have just become aware of a new oganization created to further the advancement of family & women's self-offense. Check it out at www.deviprotectiveoffense.com

Let me know what you think. Good or Bad.

Went there.......,.Didn't find much..... except offers to sell merchandise.....DVD's & T-Shirts.....
Maybe I missed something?????????????

HOWEVER.....
I DO like this statement......

"In the martial arts I come from, "defense" is considered a victim’s word, since, in terms of an actual attack on your life, a defensive mindset may get you killed. There are many subtle reasons for this. In a boxing match there are two attackers, but in an emergency attack situation there is (at least) one attacker and one defender at any given moment. Almost unequivocally the attacker is always attacking and the defender is always defending. As the controller of an event, you ACT and therefore you have more choices. As the defender, you REACT and therefore have fewer choices. The person most often in control, or acting, is most likely to survive."

This makies perfect sense!

I loved this quote, "The way you think is who you are. The way you think will determine the quality of your life and your family’s life." - Teja Van Wicklen, Devi Founder

I would be interested in finding out more about this. I think this was my old mindset, meaning being on defense. One does not realize how much the mind controls the body. If one allows someone else to basically control what you think of yourself, you have already lost the battle, whether mental or physical.

We need to train the mind as well as the body!!!

Cobra,

Very well said!

This is the mind set that we promote in Sayoc and it is this mind set that promotes the confidence to act in times of distress because it is prepaired to do so.
