Car Hammer
The "car hammer" is a small hammer -like devise that is used for emergencies to break glass (so you can excape through the window), and cut the seat belt (if it has this option).
This little hammer is reported to have saved hundreds of lives for those in situations where they need to excape their vehicles (i.e. accident where door will not open, or under water).
I keep one in all of my vehicles and recommend you do too. I believe they have them at Wal-Mart and most auto parts stores.

Ditto...
I also carry a belt knife with the hammer on the butt end.
You can also buy the SWISS ARMY version which has a built-in bread box and toaster oven.

Strike the window in the the lower corner, a few inches from the B post. I too carry a knife with the glass breaker in the butt end. Used it many times and it never fails.
