Turlin's temper tantrum
Here's my opinion of the new rules Turlin implemented this past week. BTW, for all you losers who started this in the first place with your non-stop crying to Turlin, grow the F&*@ up and find a nice, boring no-pvp board and let us play the game the way it was intended.
Cussing on gossip
The filter is ridiculous. Everyone hates it because it was a dumb idea in the first place. What were you thinking? I don't know who it was that complained about cussing on gos but seriously, they need to grow the **** up. If they don't want to see curse words on gossips, they can always turn their gos off. However, I would like to point out that every single player on this board is an adult and should be able to deal with some cursing. It's part of major mud and its part of interaction online; there's nothing you or anyone else can do to change that. I do understand that when people like desmodas and johnnyboy get on there and go overboard that is annoying. But that can be dealt with one on one without relegating the rest of us back to grade school. Besides, it's not working. When I want to say "**** Turlin" I can just as easily say "F uck Turlin" and my meaning comes across the exact same. The only thing the filter has accomplished is slightly slowing down the speed at which insults are hurled. Having the filter enabled is a major negative for the bbs; I can't think of a better way to keep new people from joining. The filter needs to go.
PVP at 5 levels/Script Killing
I don't even know where to start on this one. Seriously man, are you TRYING to get people to leave? When I came back a little while ago you seemed excited because you thought turning me loose on the board would drum up some action. Now you've made it next to impossible to fight with anyone. And the reason? Because you get tired of hearing people complain? Well excuuuuuuuuse me for saying so but that's a really ****ty reason, not to mention extremely selfish on your part. PVP is part of mud. It always has been and always will be. It is the only fun part of mud in my opinion except **** talking to enemies-see above. You can't just arbitrarily decide that pvp needs to be bottlenecked because there are a handful of whiny little ****ers out there that don't like it. Guess what? That's why they made the LAWFUL alignment. Also you don't seem to have an issue with running quests that awards the winner saint status. Seems to me like people who don't wish to fight have a couple of options. Allow me to expound:
1. Don't join a gang that is currently at war with another. DUH. Sorry, but you can't be in a gang that is actively pvping and then cry like a little ***** when you get unwillingly pulled into the fray. If they don't want to pvp maybe those pussies should all band together and make their own gang so as to not be guilty by association. .
2. Alignment. Being neutral is not a guarantee of being safe. Plainly put most people will not want to get evil points from a lawful person. It doesn't always prevent an attack but it does lower the chances. I don't want to hear any whining from someone who mistakenly assumed being good was a hall pass for not being attacked. It isn't.
3. I really don't care what gang the person is in or what their alignment is. If they are currently using an item that I want I'm going to do my best to take it for myself. There is no way to avoid this. This is not one of those 'lets all hold hands and do boss runs together to see how awesome we can make our characters!' type of board. Holodeck has a reputation for being active and occasionally volatile without being as low class as boards like ghetto. If people don't like being attacked there are dozens of other boards they can play on where pvp is not allowed. I'm ****ing pissed that I even have to write this post just because some ****ing old people/pussies/noobs show up and whine about an aspect of mud that has been incorporated into the game since beta. Tough ****.
4. Script killing! Ha! I laugh at those pieces of **** that somehow think that script killing shouldn't be allowed. ALLOWED? WHAT!? How ****ing dare them suggest that anyone has the right to monitor who, where and how pvp is conducted on this board? Can you honestly tell me that the board would have been as lively as it has been this past month if Whiskey hadn't script killed Vertigo, Desmodas and Diablo? Surely you don't believe that crap. Once again there is a hugely obvious solution to this problem: don't script. Simple. That way you can go through your characters entire life without taking any risks whatsoever! Or, better yet, if you're the type of pussy that thinks it should be outlawed how about you stick to your morals and leave the good items for everyone else to fight over? Ever notice how people wearing silk and quarterstaffs don't ever get attacked? Plain and simple these complaining little *****es want to collect gear and have a guarantee from you that they can script in peace and never have to worry about losing their gear.
I read all of the rules on the website. Your decision this past week seems to fly in the face of everything you've posted there. Whats the deal, Turlin?

Actually, i requested Turlin to take off the top exp list and set pvp for 5 levels temporarily so I can script and hit 70. I promise, as soon as I hit 70, it will go back to normal 10 level.

Actually, Beavis, your mouth is part of the reason for this. I had a simple rule about respecting others on the BBS. It appeared you and Desmodas, amongst others, have a problem with that rule.
Sure, you can bypass the filter, but that is kind of the point. It is annoying, and shows the mentality of a number of abusers; but any rules you and others don't like you bypass until I bust you.
The point of the filter, the level limit, etc. was for everyone to lose something as a reminder of the things they like. I figured people don't appreciate what they have until they have a taste of 'going without'.
Saying this was just some childish act is offensive and obviously shows your lack of imagination or intuitive thinking. This wasn't a temper tantrum or random emotional response. It was simply the culmination of a cause and effect for having to put up with a bunch of cry babies. Your post here lowers you to their level.
If anyone buys into Vertigo's lies (see above) then they are morons and should quit. I will no longer waste my time on proving or disproving or otherwise dealing with that sort of ****. So don't bother me about it.
Now, for the rest of you, how about you all grow up and try to play by the rules (instead of finding loopholes to break them).

I don't really feel like I've been overly abusive on gossips. Every last one of my verbal assualts has been mutual and unlike what you're describing I try to shame them with humor more so than cussing. Tell me you wouldn't laugh if i called you a tangled matted mess of pubic hair (btw that was to JB, he thought it was funny as did several others who were at keys). Also, I dont think cussing on gos has any reflection whatsoever on my mentality. My mentality is that im almost 30 and you're not my mother.
As far as no imagination/intuitive thinking...first of all that doesn't make any sense. I play mud, my imagination is doing just fine. "It wasn't a temper tantrum, i just got fed up listening to complaints and reacted!" OK, not going to argue the point. I haven't lowered myself to anyone's level. I had a legitimate gripe that was shared by the majority of the board and i decided to voice it since you're never at keys. So instead of responding to even ONE of my points you basically blame the entire situation on me and Desmodas, throw in a personal attack or two, and call it good. Your response was not at all what i expected, I'm disappointed to say the least.
