Just one of the things I do.
Ok this is just one of the things I do once in awhile in my off time. This is a family thing, me the wife, and when the kids get old enough them too.
We belong to a local 4x4 club, and we go 4 wheelin with them whenever we can. We all have our OHV permits which we buy, and every year our club volunteers around April for the SOLV IT run. What that is, is we all meet up at whatis called the Sand Shed at the base of Browns Camp OHV park, with Park Rangers and Forest Service personnel. From there clubs and groups get assigned to different people, and we volunteer our time, our gas, and our rigs to haul out garbage.
The first year we went was a blast. Since we were the only club there with offriad vehicles really capable of going offroad, we got sent out to hault about 10-15 appliances, and what was left of old cars. These appliances were good sized too.
Last time we went, we got lucky and someone had managed to dump personal information with their trash piles. OOPS. State and Federal LE took over that information, and people were issued some HUGE fines for dumping illegally in the state forests.
Since our website is down, I can't offer up pics from those runs, but I can offer up pics of the truck I use. She's never broken down or gotten stuck out there on the trails.
