One huge chunky gold bracelet!
Gidday guys! I just got back from 5 great days of diving and water hunting. One on dive, I decided to leave the Excalibur behind and enjoy a lazy dive on a shallow reef where a lot of snorklers like to go during the summer months. On getting to the reef, i noticed that a storm had washed away a lot of sand, leaving behind exposed rocks and cracks and crevasses between them. I couldn't help myself, but started to fan the sand with my hand, removing the gravel and tiny sea shells from the cracks, and began pulling out a few coins.
Suddenly, I noticed a glimmer of gold colour, and very carefully fanned the sand, exposing more gold. I gently plucked it out and to my amasement, turns out to be an 18ct gold bracelet!!! :D When we arrived home from the trip, I weighed it on my gold scales and it came in at a hefty 31.22grams of gold! Just short of an ounce. Not bad for a lazy dive, eh!?! =D
Here are the pics.

Re: One huge chunky gold bracelet!
wow angela , that some great find ¬ even a detector .
how is the dry suit did they do a good job ,
they made my wet suit for & do any repairs i need .
do you find any difference in the flow of the tides since the have been dredging , it seems to me that the tides are a bit stronger further up the bay than they were .
interested to hear for others as to thier thoughts .

Re: One huge chunky gold bracelet!
Gidday slak jak, they did a great job on the dry suit, thanks. No leaks, and they put on heavy duty latex for the wrist seals instead of the thinner ones, so I'm happy with that.
No, I haven't found any difference with the dredging in the Bay. All looks good from what I've seen, plenty of fish life and growth around the pylons. I have noticed that the tides hae changed somewhat though, over time. Did a dive on "Cottage By The Sea", a shore dive in Queenscliff, and it was supposed to be edd tide. Tis was after 4:00pm when i entered the water. Some ebb! The surf came crashing over me, and I got knocked off my fins into the water, and tumble several times before I could get up, with a little help from two other divers! Thought I'd never start the dive!
But when fanning the sand along some shallow reef, noticed a good deal of wash out, uncovering the rocks and cracks in between. A good time to go detecting.
Did you have your wet suit made for size?
Angela

Re: One huge chunky gold bracelet!
hi angela , glad you are happy with your wetsuit,
yes they made my suit to suit my old & fat body
did a good job , this is not the first one they have made for me . i tend to feel that the tides up around frankston have a bit more movement than previous ,
may just be my imagination ,
will wait to see if anyone else gets the same impression .
wish you continued good hunting . jack

Re: One huge chunky gold bracelet!
Hello Jack, I haven't actually got into the water at Frankston before, but I have thought about diving the pier. Never detected there either. But i have noticed a change in tides along the peninsula. Was begining to wonder if it was my imagination.
