A short trip into "Coinshooter's" territory
I recently spent a couple of days at Barmera in the Riverland of South Australia. I am still recovering from a recent knee job but thought I would try give the detector a short work-out. As the "Southerners" would be aware we have been rather short on water for the last couple of years and Lake Bonney at Barmera is no exception with the shoreline about 100 metres away from it's norm, as a result I was able to detect in an area normally a metre or so under water. As you can see from the photo the coins I found are badly corroded but I enjoyed the experience for a couple of hours until my body decided it was time to quit.
Included in the tally was two florins, a shilling, threepence, six pennies and a half penny, the oldest coin was the 1918 threepence.
Regards, Brian

nice haul  there have been so many people detecting around the lake..... goes to show how much is still there to find
Brian you should have emailed me, I've been on holidays the last week (if that is when you were there) and would have joined you for an hour to three, for a swing or even just for a chat about detectin' =D
