Beach hunt and a few pics of my dive!
Gidday all. Got out on Sunday for a bit of dry sand detecting and found a few coins alongside an embankment that had partially washed away by pounding waves. Later we decided to dive under Blairgowrie Pier. Good visability, lots to see. Here are a few pics, one of my beach finds and the rest of the pier dive. hope you like!

Re: Beach hunt and a few pics of my dive!
Gidday Andrew...checking into the problem as I speak! Some of these icons were downloaded from photobucket onto the forum ages ago...now that the account seems to have been inactive, I may have to reload a few icons from another source. By deleting the problem icons here i run the risk in deleting a few posts where icons are attached in the posting. See what I can do to clear it up without any deletions...but no guarentees... :escher:

Thanks Andrew....yeah sorry about any deletions...but it was unavoidable as far as I could make it out. Glad you like the newbie icons!

Re: Beach hunt and a few pics of my dive!
Hi Angela Once again your pictures amaze thanks for sharing them with us. I have just been over your way doing some volunteer work helping out in the Marysville area. What a great experience met some great people, who are trying to get their lives back together again. My wife and I spent two weeks helping out a couple who had a farm just out of Buxton. They lost most of their stock, fences, machinery etc and were lucky they didnt lose their house and lives..We spent most of our time removing burnt trees and generally tidying up the garden areas close by the house. This couple really needed help, they had really gone through hell. The husband was disabled in a car crash just prior to the fire and she had been hurt herself trying to repair some fencing a few weeks ago. The kindness and generosity of people I have met over there is truly overwhelming. It something which will stay with me for the rest of my life. seeya Neilo

Re: Beach hunt and a few pics of my dive!
Neilo, that's great that you and your wife were able to help someone in need! Many people lost a lot; even in towns close to home here, many lost homes or lives in the fires last summer. Garry and I were out walking one evening when a fellow caught up with us, also walking, and just wanted to talk, He told us how he'd lost his home, livestock, and at the time he, his wife and kids were bunking at a friends house with just the clothes on their backs. He broke down and cried. All we could do was to comfort him, and offer any help. He was just happy to have someone listen to him and walk with him for a bit, just for company. But boy, it brought it all close to home. We felt so much for him and others like him. It's nice to know there are people out there who care like yourselves Neilo!
Thats too for the compliment on my pics! Where heading off in about 7 weeks for 2 weeks of detecting...we need it too...overworked and tired! So how's grand dad going? I become a grandma 4 weeks ago, third time over! (Still think I'm too young to be one!)
