Wanted: Good S/H Minelab Quattro detector
G'day all, I'm looking to buy another detector and would like a Quattro if anyone knows of one. I can get a s/h Explorer XS but it may be a bit complicated for me. Any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers,

Gidday Rocker, Quattros are a great detector, I own one and have done very well with it. I don't believe Minelab makes them any longer, and are superceded by the new Safari. I checked out a Safari the other day, and in all respects it's another Quattro with a slightly quicker recovery. Same screen with all the available modes, etc. the coil is a DD coil, more lightweight and waterproof. I'd check out the Safari if you can't get hold of a Quattro, secondhand.

Re: Wanted: Good S/H Minelab Quattro detector
Hi Angela, Guess what - I GOT ONE! (Quattro) After a lot of phone calls(I hate to see my phone bill), I rang a dealer in Maryborough who had 2 would you believe. He assured me both were in excellent condition, so can't wait for it to arrive.
Hopefully it will be here by the weekend and if this damn weather improves, I'll be out and about. I will let you know the results.
Cheers,

Re: Wanted: Good S/H Minelab Quattro detector
That's great Rocker! Yep, let me know how you go with it. If you need any help or suggestions, just ask. I've used mine extensively for about 6-7 years thereabouts, and use to live on old goldfields. So I've done a lot of detecting in heavy mineralized and trashy ground. It's also a great beach machine, goes deep, nice clear signals. With relic hunting, just bear in mind that many relics fall in the negative numerical reading with the Quattro. I use All Metal Mode..no discrimination when relic hunting. Keep your sensativity about 12 to begin with, and as you get comfortable with it, raise it incrementally to around 16. See how you go. Bit of a learning curve, but you should do fine!
