Forum
Hi guys, i'm going to have a bit of a winge, We have here a great forum, plenty of members but apart from a handfull no one bothers to post anything, or if someone does post something no one responds to it,so what the heck, i have found some good stuff in the last few weeks but i havn't posted it,why should i ! no one says anything, so i'm going to be like the rest of you,say nothing post nothing, GOODBYE FORUM! ITS YOUR FAULT,GET OF YOUR ARS#S AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT,OTHERWISE THIS FORUM WILL GO DOWN THE GURGLER.
Check out the yank sites and see what makes a successfull forum, people post their finds even if they find a few cents and they will gey 5 or more replies of encouragement.
There i had my winge and feel 100% better its now up to you if you want a successfull forum or not.

Re: Forum
Hi Raoul, You are right and I am guilty. I do get out but feel the little found isn't worth reporting. I will give it more attention in future.
Thanks for the wake-up call.
Regards, Brian.

Re: Forum
I agree Raoul and well said, we have tried with the email list and now this forum... for some reason aussies read and rarely post... if Riverland Internet weren't such a great group of people the email group would have been pulled ages ago, the few posts it gets isn't worth keeping it open.
We hoped that this web based forum might encourage more posters and I guess it has/does but still nothing like OS based sites.
As a regular Raoul, I love looking, reading and replying about your finds, hell it helps make up for the non detecting time I've had.

Re: Forum
You've got a point there Raoul. Seems there are a lot who have joined, but not many are posting. I have to say, I love reading ALL the posts, whatever they are, because it tells me there are people out there doing what I do, and really enjoying it. Where I live, I don't think there are too many people with my interest. I have rarely seen another detectorist up this way, maybe one or two, in my life time of detecting. So I kinda need to hear from everyone else, and what they're getting up too. It's encouraging. Well, the holiday season is coming up and I've got about 10 days off to detect to my heart's content. First few days I'll be down the beach, after that, Garry's taking me to new ground, for relic and gold detecting. Can't wait. My camera has just broken down, so now I've got to get it fixed soon. It's going to cost me! Might pay to just go buy another. Just can't afford it right now. Anyway, hope the forum does pick up. I actually found it better than the lists. Seems you write to it, everyone reads your post, but hardly anyone answers that! Now I've had my winge. But at least there are regulars HERE! That's a bonus. Raoul, do keep posting your photos and finds. I look forward to each one of them personally, so there!

Re: Forum
Oh, one more thing, Freddy, where are you? Haven't seen or heard from you in ages? Are you still in the land of the living? Write to us soon, if you get this message!
Angela

Re: Forum
There appear to be a lack of member participation, this is not unique to this forum, but it is a deterrent to would be posters.
This forum is here for a purpose, the members and visitors are here and come here for a purpose, but it is not necessarily the same purpose.
Everyone participating would like to be recognized with a simple acknowledging reply or two, it works like lubricants on a dry joint
Since this section of the forum is for Feedback/Suggestions/Problems my question is,
Who will look at sugestions made here and who can make the changes if required ???

I think most members would look at suggestions and comment if they felt the need to.
Technical changes to the forum admin and moderators can make, or if you are talking community changes (culture, replying to posts etc) only members can do that....
