Night before 220108
A night in Pt Douglas with full moon and a slight breeze to cool by.
This time the floodlight over the net area was on til 0200 in the morning and since there was no other salvage agents in sight I was the only one to make use of it.
Not wasting the light was my contribution against global warming. :p
The pocket knife is good soaked it in CLR for an hour and the Seiko watch is working just fine.
A few silver items next to the watch and enough coins to pay for the fuel.

Re: Night before 220108
that's a nice haul you have there Ivan. A working watch is a nice find! The ones I've ever found are broken, corroded or water-logged! i like the photo of the beach view too with the palm trees. Very nice.

Re: Night before 220108
Angela. FK. CS. thanks for looking.
Yes the knife is a Victorinox.
The net can be moved out to sea with the low tide and in with the high tide.
The time of this picture is 06.04 the net is pulled up to prevent stingers washing in at high tide when unattended.
Tide is on the way in, at 02.00 in the morning the net was empty and there was an extra 25m of beach at the sea side open to search.
All the items here would have been lost within the net area at some time.
It is handy to have this concentration, but it also gets crowded when there are more than one MD operator.
Unlucky is when one get's there a day late.

Re: Night before 220108
Hi Andrew.
Some of the coins turn black, the sand is dark gray 6" down and there are meter long sand worms as thick as a finger down there also.
Hopefully not to many of the coins have been there for more than 2 month, cause that would indicate I did a rush job last I was there.
A picture from Nov 2007 same beach.
