David, many thanks, it was well worth the wait for these excellent pics and explanation of your coin cleaning set up to be posted, well done.

Can you please advise of the cost and where to purchase one of these Lortone tumblers, are they available in Adelaide?

Best wishes to all, Brian.

Hi Brian
I bought this one from a lapidary supplier on Henly Beach Rd I think it was called Shelleys $230 from memory, I have contacted Kellyco in the states as they have them listed for $90.00 US to see what cost of postage is for a 220 volt version, Will let you know when they respond

Hey Popeye,

They look great mate

I move mine by using them in parking meters and any other machines you pump coins into. Tried to buy a pie once over the counter at a bakery, the lady looked at me very funny and proceeded to put on a rubber glove to handle the money

I did get my pie

What an excellent post David! Love the pics with the explanation. I use a double barrel tumbler I bought a while ago at a Gem & Treasure show, after selling an old bottle for $500.00. I use it to tumble both agates, crystals and coins, just using the usual different grades of sand, etc as you would for the gems, except it takes a bit longer to clean the coins using this method. With your method, the coins came out exceptional in no time at all. Must try it myself!
Again thanks for a great post David! emoticon

Mercury4 this might help you. I just bought a Lortone single barrel tumbler from Ron's Rocks in the u.s.a. for $124.60 us dollars in Aus dollars it comes to $134.00

Lortone tumbler $61.00
Freight yo Aus $ 45.60
Conversion to Aus voltage $18.00
Total $124.60
I tried to buy one in Aus and they are all over the $200.00 mark plus shipping cost on top.
Takes about 3 weeks delivery from the States.

           Cheers Raoul
