The fella im refering to with a brilliant mind is kinda short,podgy and drinks alot of bourbon. And is known as a bit of a stirrer. And i wish i had his job driving around all day, Smoking to his hearts content. And detecting when he's supposed to be working!. HAHAHA

Hi Gary,
I can't see wwhy anyone would need to wear knee pads while digging. You can bend down with both feet firmly flat on the ground, without without going onto your knees. You're still close to the ground and it's much better for your back as it's straighter with a lesser tendancy to bend right over. By keeping your balance this way, you can manuver your body position without having to get up and reposition whilst digging. Just a tip that might help you.

I concur with Neilo here. Too many holes have been left behind, or scarring on the ground by improperly unfilled holes, and that's all it takes to have metal detecting banned in parks or reserves. Besides, I don't think the caretakers would appreciate us walking onto mowed areas with a big pick in hand. The more discreet the digging tools are, the less of a wrong impression we give.

Hello Garry, I use knee pads, I can't squat like Angela, i used to be able to when i was a young slip of a thing like her :D I cut my knee a couple of times on things in the grass, thats why i bought them, and they also keep your trousers clean :banana: Bob
