posticon Back to Basics

Well this is my first time on board. I have finally got rid of my other water craft and settled on a 3 metre Calypso sit on top and I have set about learning kayak fishing. Hopefully my experience in a 4.3 metre fishing canoe with outrigger will be of some help It is certainly a change to have a craft that can be off the 4wd and in the water in five minutes. Also light enough to toss around by myself. I live in the Pine Shire north of Brisbane so there are plenty of quiet spots to learn the art

G day Givadam, welcome aboard! I'm sure your canoe experience will give you more than a head start with yak fishing, especially with reading a lot of water/weather/fishy spots etc. I'm looking forward to some reports emoticon

G'day Givadam,

Keep an eye on the "Fishing Trips" section as there are several of us in SEQ who organise an occasional outing and you're welcome to join in and teach us a few tricks that you would have picked up while canoe fishing.

If you haven't already discovered Yaker's site, here's the link:

Ross
