Re: South Coast NSW, Bream, Bass, EP Trip
Ok, the dates that I am proposing for this trip, based on moon phases, alleged fish activity, and my available days off, are either the weekends of the 3 & 4th September or the 17 & 18th September, depending on what suits everybody. Due to the amount of interest shown, I also propose fishing either Brogo Dam (Bass Only) or the Bega River (EPs, Bream, Flatties, and maybe some late spawn Bass as the river did flow this winter. Whats everyones thoughts on this? If there are any talented photo takers among us, I may even type up an article for one of the major magazines (depending on how lazy I get after the trip ) as I am sure everyone agrees there is never enough litrature on kayak fishing.

Re: South Coast NSW, Bream, Bass, EP Trip
James, there'll be an article on kayak fishing in the September QFM, and hopefully a few more over the following months. They may be interested in an article for NSWFM.

If we get another good year on the midges out at Eucumbeme, the kayaks will come into their own there as well. Should be good fun.
The polaroiding on Jindabyne has been outstanding lately aswell. We might try to organise another trip chasing some trout once the weather warms up if you are interested

Writing up the trip in a magazine could put an end to some of your "secret" and/or "sneaky" places. If you do get published don't be surprised to see a few more people in these areas the next time you go fishing - it's one of the reasons for having "secret" spots!

Re: South Coast NSW, Bream, Bass, EP Trip
As stated previously though, due to the amount of interest shown, we would look at going to the Bega river or Brogo dam, as my little "secret" spots are only good for a couple of kayaks. Also the only reason I considered the article was due to the numbers it looks like we may get. I think half a dozen or so kayaks would make a nice picture, and the odds of catching fish are a bit better with more people fishing, which in turn would make a good article. At a later date though, I will be doing an article on a couple of my "sneaky" spots, but I will not be mentioning exactly where they are, as I think my stories will be on techniques rather than location.

Re: South Coast NSW, Bream, Bass, EP Trip
Either of those weekends is good for me, although the earlier September date is probably still way too cold. The fish will still be totally shut down, and will only be in semi-hibernation.
As for venue, I think that it should be Brogo Dam, or as an alternative Brogo Dam. Easy to get to, easy for everyone to find and launch from, no chance of blowing anyone's favourite spot, and good camping areas and can fit lots of people so it doesn't matter if 20 yaks show up. Actually, 20 yaks will be an advantage in finding the action if the fish are bunched up.
The Bass will be smallish, but there are lots of them.

Re: South Coast NSW, Bream, Bass, EP Trip
I agree, I am a sucker for Brogo, 20 fish days are commen, and its very scenic too. Lets lock those later dates in- "lock it in Eddie" and we will start this ball rolling! Look forward to fishing with you!
