Saturday 6 August Brisbane vicinity

Anybody got any plans for Saturday morning? In the absence of any other more exciting ideas, I will probably just head down to the reefs at Scarborough. I am keen to give the soft plastics a whirl - and see if there are any Squire about. Stu and Steven, are you guys planning to head offshore to chase the serious stuff?

Hi Nick.

Looking at seabreeze.com, its not looking too flash for offshore at this stage. Ill be up for a fish locally but if nothing changes weatherwise, it may be sheltered waters. We'll see how it looks later in the week.

Re: Saturday 6 August Brisbane vicinity

Thanks Steven. I had plenty of fish in China - but not sure what it was. Mind you I did not have much of any idea what I was eating most of the time! It was all (mostly) good though. The info I got on plastics I got under the "tackle" page. I think it is under the heading "plastics". Aaron (Happy Gilmour) had some useful tips as well. I might be persuaded to come down to Kingscliff on Sat - weather permitting. It is time I joined up with you and Stu. How much further down the coast than Palm Beach is it - and what time do you launch? Do you fish mostly with pillies? I'll have to stock up tomorrow.

Re: Saturday 6 August Brisbane vicinity

It's about 30min south of Palm Beach,I have been using pillies with very little weight,it all depends on how much current and wind on the day.I have not used SP but they wought work fine with 1/4-1/2 plus oz jig heads.
Lets hope the weather will be OK.

Re: Saturday 6 August Brisbane vicinity

hi.as stu said.about another half hour past palm beach.i leave brizzie at 4am.if we are launching at 5.30.it sounds daunting, but a quick cup of coffee, put the radio on in the car, munch your brekkie on the way, dont think about the drive and before you know it your there and ready to fish.i dont know about saturday though as looking at the weather they predict 20/30 knot southerlys and it predicts that it will already be blowing at 18knots at 4am in the morning!!.so i think i will give saturday a miss.on sunday my misses has plans so i am still trying to figure out a way to wangle some hours fishing.what about you or stu.??check out the wind for saturday.

Given the dubious weather forecast, I am going to be a fader - and commit myself to lening a hand with fetching and carrying the children to the various sporting and extra mural activities!

Re: Saturday 6 August Brisbane vicinity

I found a nice creek at Jacobs Well I might give a go, boats cant access it at low tide. I dont think it will be an early start, but I will still probably give it a go tomorrow.
