Re: Port Phillip Fri 5/8 or Sat 6/8
I'm tentative at this stage Poddy. I'll see what the wind is doing and shoot you a text.
Hey Milt,
Are you checking out the wetsuits tonight?
If so, what time?

I'm going Sat morning around 10am, if you go there tonight, let me know what there like if you think the size would suit me.

Re: Port Phillip Fri 5/8 or Sat 6/8
Poddy acted as my tour guide yesterday afternoon as I had not had my SIT yak on the bay before. Although there was some protected water in close out further it was pretty choppy. Having said that, the rougher conditions were perfect for me to test paddle Poddy's Swing and compare it to my Dagger Discovery.
I concluded that both craft (both are approx 4m) handled the conditions well and appeared to me to be of a similar speed. My SIT yak however tended to be slightly harder to paddle in a straight line than the Swing when the strong wind was blowing side on (maybe due to it's higher profile).
Therefore I think that the Swing is a good SOT candidate to replace my SIT for the salwater scene.
Thanks Poddy for the company and test paddle and I look forward to future trips with yourself and the others.
Oh yeah, Poddy did catch one small couta, but the conditions did get worse so we left before the fish really came on.

No worries KOBnCo, always good to meet another AKFF face and I enjoy fishing chats about others experiences/tips etc.
--- Perception Swing & Dagger Drifter II. Wouldn't one yak be enough?
