Re: Kingscliff this weekend

Thanks Stu - but I am going to pack my rod and paddle - before I pack anything else (hopefully I'll remember my kayak!). See you on Saturday (or Sunday). Forecast is looking reasonable - and I am off to the Tackle Wharehouse in a minute to add to my (growing) collection of lures - and stock up on smelly pillies - so that I can fill the deep freeze - and generally irritate everybody at home!

Re: Kingscliff this weekend

Again it looks like ill be a 'no show'. Not totally my fault this time. My next door neighbour has just bought the ScramblerXT that was posted on this site, so we are going to head down to Jacobs Well tomorrow to get him on the water. I think 2 days this weekend might be pushing my luck with the Boss!

Having not been down to Kingscliff yet, do you think it is a good spot for someone who hasnt had too much time on the water to try offshore fishing?
Stu, didnt you take your brother down there recently?

Good luck, ill be looking forward to the reports on Sunday evening.

Gerard.

Re: Kingscliff this weekend

Hi Gerard
Kingscliff is a good spot to practice and learn the surf the waves are small and the water is shallow so when you fall off getting back on is so easy and before you know it you will be rideing a few small waves in.
It was my brothers first time in the surf on a kayak and he was feeling confidant after 1hr,there's plenty of water to explore in Cudgen Creek when you get sick of the surf.
