Re: Kingscliff this weekend

I'll be glad of the full moon when I get up at 3:30 tomorrow morning, Stu! Straight to bed after the Rugby tonight (go the Bokke!). Ross, Tony and Gerard I really think you guys should be making a plan to be there tomorrow - full moon, perfect weather and all that!

Re: Kingscliff this weekend

Lucked out emoticon . I have since found out that 'Family Day' starts with a sleep in, not at 5am when the alarm goes off! As I type this you guys are out there hauling in Jewies and Kingies on a beautiful Qld morning. Looks like next week.

Tony, we didnt do any good down at Jacobs Well. Paul had a great time on his new kayak, although he may be a bit sore today. We paddled about 6klms with the last 2 into a headwind and against the current. He's keen though.

Gerard.

Re: Kingscliff this weekend

Well, the weather was about as glorious as it could possibly get. It just does not get any better. Full moon, glassy conditions, dolphins, and the sun coming up over the horizon. I headed in after three hours with an empty bag (after trolling both the inner and outer reefs). Sorry, to miss you guys later Steve and Stu - did you have any luck after I left? I must say it is a beautiful spot - good beach, lots of breakfast opportunities, and a crystal clear creek - I am sorry I did not tell my family to meet me down there. Thanks for the help Stu - it was a great way to start the day - and a reminder of what a beautiful part of the world we live in. And just for the record, I was really sorry Australia lost last night!

Re: Kingscliff this weekend

Ahh, all the boys together again emoticon How are all you fellas going up there anyway? Whens our next trip around Coochimudlo island? I think in the new year we really should consider another trip to make up for our lack of fish on the last one. I will have to hurry up and buy another sea going kayak for our future trips, after getting rid of the feel free, I dont think the little minnow would be up to ocean going sessions.............but who knows, with the skirt on it may be all right. Eucumbene gets a fair old swell up on windy days, and I notice that sit in kayaks tend to go through the waves rather than over them- can be fun sometimes emoticon
