 Escapade
Hi all I'm looking for a good fishing Kayak for port philip & Western port bays (Melbourne)& lake,coastal fishing (Ninty mile beach area.
I'm interested in the Q Kayak Escapade it,s a fish & dive kayak, I see Simond11 has one. I'd appreceated some advice on this one.

Hi Murray
Just leaving for Frankfurt tomorrow so just got your message in time.
I have had the Escapade now for nearly 2 years and I find it a really good kayak. i fish out on the ocean in depths up to 30 metres with some pretty big swell at times. The escapade is 3.46 metres in length and although not the ideal length for the ocean, I still feel very safe on it. It is quite wide (I think about 72cm) and therefore very stable. I have modified mine a bit to suit my type of fishing. I have been using bait, but I am now turning my attention to plastics, minnows, spoons etc.
Talk to The Mariner as well regarding yaks. If i could have my time over I would probably look at the Wilderness System kayaks, although I don't know what they are like on the ocean. I love my Escapade and I can't see myself changing it for quite a while yet. Send me a PM and I will send you some of my rigged photos.
