Scupper Pro?

If anyone has a Scupper Pro could they give me a quick review of it. How about the hatches re access & sealing? I can't recall which brand had the issues with leaking hatches.

I'm looking at a second hand one that actually has two hatches instead of the one and the tankwell.

Appreciate any comments.

Re: Scupper Pro?

Is that the one that's on eBay at the moment ?

'Shoei' had one & 'Scupper' has one so maybe send them a PM in case they don't read this post.

Overall the Scupper is a capable boat as long as you don't mind a wet bum & your size/weight doesn't make you too big to fit the seat.

The decks are a bit narrow & often curved which makes fitting rod holders a bit more of a challenge but it can be done. Unfortunately lots of people make-up for not being able to fit rod holders by using a milk crate in the tankwell... which the one you are looking at doesn't have.

If you troll through some of the U.S. kayak fishing sites you'll find quite a few pics of rigged Scuppers to give you ideas, but like I said not having the tankwell may be a problem. Guys who owned the old style Tarpon T160 that had a rear hatch used to sit a milk crate on top of the hatch but the hatch was flat on the Tarpon whereas the Scupper is curved.

Re: Scupper Pro?

Phil,

Appreciate your comments.

Yes it is the one on EBay, as I said I'm just looking and wondering if it was worth it if cheap enough.

However all your comments are very valid. The twin hatches don't excite me as far as easy on the water access.

Cheers,
