Another tragic loss of life

Hi Guys,

You may have heard on the news about 2 guys who died while kayaking over the weekend. Here's the latest report.

It seems they hired an open ****pit 2-man kayak (similar to a Dagger Drifter II/Loon 116/Perception Acadia Double) and decided to tackle the trecherous water between Cape Jervis & Kangaroo Island. They both had PFD's on but obviously were not dressed suitably, had no suitable recovery, safety or signalling equipment, had little/no experience and were in an unsuitable vessel.

Such a terrible loss of life & my thoughts go out to their families.

Please kayak safely.

That is a terrible bit of news. It is nasty looking bit of water there, I am not surprised his friends tried to talk him out of it.

He leaves five kids behind. Bloody awful.

Ive been fishing there good fishing but unpredictable as hell
The local charter operators steer clear of it
U get big current going thru it most of the time couple that with a big swell and a breeze u can get into trouble real quick even in a 5m boat emoticon
