Re: Roof racks for two kayaks?
Yuk! Yuk! Yuk! Good one Phil :- "just lift the FIFTEEN FOOT HALF-A-HUNDREDWEIGHT Prowler...." over y'head and dance around with it..... after years of soft living.
I been trying to get back to me 7-years-ago buildin'-renovations body for months and at the gym the other day I near busted me poofer liftin' 20kgs above shoulder height. All I was trainin' for was lifting ONE END of the yak onto the roof racks!
Thankee for the advice ...I think I need extender bars and a hernia strap.

Re: Roof racks for two kayaks?
Hi BE,
Hey, don't be surprised what you can lift. I'm the first one to admit I have chicken-muscle arms but with a bit of practice it's easy.
#1 - Get side handles fitted AT THE BALANCE POINT of your kayak. Good handles at the balance point make the job sooooo much easier.
#2 - Stand along side it, grasp the handles & lift. Assuming you are right-handed, once the kayak is above the standing level of your right elbow, shove it under the kayak to support it & lift it while tilting the kayak a little over your head to get its C of G more over the centre of your body.
--- Regards,
Phil.
