Re: around canberra fishing?
G'day Cormorant,
I've got into a bit of redfin action myself from time to time. Thought they would have been off the bite lately with the colder weather. I usually go the soft plastics or tazzies for the redfin. What else do you use?

Re: around canberra fishing?
I have found that small hard bodied lures like the Bennett Mini-merlin work really well for me. Stumpjumpers are also a really good lure for this.
I also use the flyrod a lot for these guys, and the standard wolly worm, black with a touch of red on it is the stand-out here as well. Sunset flies also work very well.
Basically, anything with a patch of red on it will get hit, and even the small ones are great for establishing new plants in the garden!

Cormorant - I have an image of your your garden being a combonation of petunia's, glady's, and redfin tails poking up through the earth! I see a lot Vic guys also jig for redfin around snags, either with ice jigs, plastics, or small metals.

Re: around canberra fishing?
Mate, the Murrimbidgee river is also a nice close location. I myself am going to try and take a week off work before xmas and paddle from here in Cooma all the way to Canberra. Should be a good trip!
