Hi All
I have recently placed a order for a perception swing and will be picking it up tomorrow.
I currently have a Australias bass which i have fished out of for the past 5 years. Mainly fishing estuary and freshwater in the Sydney region.
With my perception I wish to venture outside and chace some Bluewater species which I usually target out of a boat when I can get a crew.
I have got a number of extras including: 25cm front hatch, Adjustable foot rests, 13cm centre hatch, 25cm rear hatch, Foam seat (pad and back) and life jacket
Question are there any other items I should consider before heading out.(once I gain confidence from a few trial runs in Pitwater)
As well I would just like to say hello and look forward to being a part of this forum.
Regards
Greg

Re: Hi All
Gday Greg,
check out Billybob's website, 'Fishing Noosa'. You can have a look at some pre-rigged Swing's and decide what you need to add. Probably lip grippers, some bungy cord, paddle clips and of course rod holders.
Anyway, check out the picks and see how you go.
All the best.
--- Regards,
Gerard.

Re: Hi All
Welcome Yakfish
Sound's like you have plenty of kayak fishing experience on the quieter waters so venturing outside shouldn't be any real problem. Your Swing will certainly do you right as it's about the best all-round fishing kayak there is.
Sound's like you have the 'Swing Deluxe package' - pod, which is great value for money.
As Shoei suggested, rod holders are an essential item. Check Billy's site or mine for positioning ideas but only start drilling once you are 100% certain you are happy with what you are about to install & where it's going to be.
I can suggest to start with is a paddle leash in case you drop your paddle over the side. I also leash myself to my kayak i case I go over the side as I don't want to surface to see my kayak drifting away. A wetsuit or similar is also a great safety item to help against exposure if you do end-up spending a lot of time in the water.
Once the trips offshore start happening regularly I'd also recommend a handheld VHF radio or EPIRB so you can call for help if needed.
So we can help get to know you better would you please include your location (just a general one, not your full street address) into your profile so we can all see where you are from whwnever you make a post. Instructions on how to do this are in the 'help' area.

Re: Hi All
Sorry Phil, I should have thought to add your site, my mistake. Being so close to Noosa I naturally look there first.

Gerard.
