Re: kayak Carts

Hi Phil,

This forum doesn't allow direct uploading of images so you'll need to get the images hosed at a free site somewhere on the WWW (or simply upload them to the web space you have as part of your private internet account), then use the 'insert image' feature when you write your post.

Instruction on how to do this are in the 'forum help' area on the main page.

The new forum we'll be transferring over to soon does allow direct uploading emoticon so all this free picture hosting rubbish will be a thing of the past !

Re: kayak Carts

emoticon Here she is! Not as sexy and compact as the stern one mariner just sent me but Im happy! Only one small fly in the ointment. I forgot to double check the wheel size and it is just a little too big to go in the percptions hatch - maybey if I let more air out of the tyres. either way it will be touch and go. Thanks again to all for the input. Imageoc254/th_5fa_kayak_cart_002.JPG[/IMG] Image Image

Re: kayak Carts

One of the Piccies didn't seem to work so I'll add it here. I made the whole thing pull apart so everything (except the wheels) can be stowed in the hull. Beats carrying it I reckon and the Mrs loves it! art. Image

Re: kayak Carts

How about a kayak sling?? Saw this on ebay but not sure how good it would be with a larger yak than the one pictured. Could make a swing a little easier to carry? Could even make your own... http://cgi.ebay.com/YAKSLING-EZ-way-to-carry-your-KAYAK_W0QQitemZ7176682166QQcategoryZ36122QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Too many Phils I reckon !

Nice job Phil. Whatever makes the Mrs. happy should pay dividends emoticon

You can also use the thigh straps that are available for Perception sit-on-tops as a carry strap like the yaksling.

Re: kayak Carts

If any of the SIK guys have the "Thule" type kayak carriers, here is a link (on Yaker's site) to a simple cart I made up over a year ago.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/aus-kayak-fishing/articles/yakcart.html

I've only used it a couple of times but it works okay for me.
