Newbie

I have for a couple of months been reading this forum religiously on a daily basis. It is an unreal forum with a heap of great information. I'm looking forward to chatting with you guys. I would like to congratulate you Phil for a fantastic forum. Looking forward to the new one.

One of the main reasons I bought a fishing kayak is that I live in a unit. I have a garage that I installed some brackets to the roof to store my kayak. I would love a boat/tinny but i don't have the room, so a kayak is an unreal alternative for me.

Well I can gladly say that yesterday I picked up my first ever kayak. A Prowler 13. I did what so many people have said to do in the forum and that's test ride the kayak before you buy it. After weeks of research I came down to 3 kayaks that I picked from. The Hobie Quest, Perception Swing and the Prowler 13. I had a ride in each of them and found each to be great riding boats. Basically what it came down to was that you can't go past the price of the Prowlers at the moment.

I'm going for my first paddle tomorrow in Narrabeen lake. I want to get up to speed on the ways of kayaking quick so that I can join the Dawn Prawn Club when it starts back up again next month.

Can't wait to get out there.

Cheers,

Knightsy.

Re: Newbie

Welcome to the forum Knightsy Image.. and thanks for the kind words emoticon At this stage the new forum will be opened late Tuesday night so you don't have long to wait.

Sound's like you really did your homework & found a kayak you should be happy with. Maybe wait until the new forum is open then it would be great if you'd be able to post a review on your new baby in the 'Which Kayak For Me' area.
