I have a ton of Vintage Batman Toys from the 60's because that is my favorite era. Unfortunely I don't have a way to take a photo right now so I'm gonna use the few pix I have on my PC now.

The Large Plush Doll & Jelly Jar Labels are Super-RARE & ©1966.

There is one of those dolls on ebay right now if anyone is interested, I have no idea if the price is fair or not, and it is missing the cape, but that could be made easily enough.

Nice stuff, sadly my Bat collection begins at 1973 so I have nothing to share.

Here's a photo of two of my favorite vintage items...a 1966 Batman Pencil Box Set, Mint in Original Package! Plus a 1966 Batman Ball-Point Pen, MIP too!

A great story to go with these is that I found them at a flea market in Dallas, Texas. But 1st, I went to this booth of a very greedy dealer that I totally dislike...you know the type, all arrogant & over-priced. He had the Pencil Set missing some parts & loose but still wanted $125.00 for it. That kinda bummed me out but I was NOT gonna pay his over-priced price. Then, later, on the other side of the room I scanned this guy's booth who was mainly selling glassware & "granny antique" stuff. I looked under his table & he had these laying on the floor like they were crap! I picked them up & asked, "How much for the set?". He said, "Ahhh, Give me $20.00 for both". OMG!! I paid him faster than you can blink, ha ha! Later I showed them to Mr. Greedy-Guy & told him the price. He threw a baby fit & I walked away with a HUGE smile. I'm not really petty or anything like that but if you knew what a jerk this guy was you would have done the same thing....ha ha ha!

thats a cool story. Good for you.

I like the packaging on those items. I also find it amusing that the pencil case is a gun and Batman is carrying a gun on the art work.

I do not know how to link pictures from an external site. I do have access to a server and some basic web knowledge though. Can some one help me?

Thanks!

Hey BATFAN1966,

Just a quick note to welcome you here. Thanx for joining up, glad to see a new guy! About the "picture thing".

1. You need to have the photos stored at an FTP. Your ISP usually has some space for ya or you can use a free online picture service. I use PHOTOBUCKET, works pretty good.

2. After you have the pic stored just COPY the URL location of that photo. Then come here & sign-in.

3. In the thread you want to reply to hit the REPLY button, you'll be transfered to the place where you write stuff. Above the big window where you type you'll see alotta buttons & smilies. Under the smilies are some Big Buttons, look for the 2nd one that says INSERT IMAGE. Click that button.

4. A window will pop-up asking for the photo's URL, just paste your FTP code in there.

5. For the 1st try you might use the PREVIEW function. if everything looks good then SUBMIT REPLY.

I hope this helps, sorry for any confusion, just mess around with it & you should get it. It's super easy to do but kinda hard to explain. I foyu need ANY further hep please ask & we'll get ya goin'.

Thanx again for joining,
Tommy

Show your 60's stuff

Looking at my user name you can see that I am a 1966 Batman fan. Below you'll find some of my 60’s items. (My collecting focus is on Batman from 1966 to the mid 80’s with certain retro DC Direct items also included.)

I lost majority of my Batman stuff in Hurricane Katrina as I lived just outside of New Orleans and my home was under 12 ft of water for days. Most of what you see I evacuated with. (I did preserve just about all of my Batman comics with solid runs of Both Detective and Batman going back to 1976.)

Original 1966 Batman Movie poster from the UK and March 1966 LIFE signed by Adam West

Ideal came out with some really cool stuff—sorry about the Batcave but better pics can be found on the Ideal thread

NM Aurora Batboat far right—bought by uncle during 80’s for $1.00!

Thanks Tommy for your help linking the pics!

Show your 60's stuff

It’s been a long road to normalcy but I am doing okay. Being a Batfan has been part of the healing process though.

While I did loose a lot, money received from my losses has allowed me to buy some big wish list items like a red Taiwanese Batmobile, a pair of MEGO magnetic handed Batman and Robin Figures, and the Ideal helmet pictured. In addition, I found a great comic shop in Baton Rouge, Baker Comics, where I have been able to reconnect with people—especially the shop’s owner who is a Batfan also.

Being able to find this website has been a lot of fun too and I hope to be a regular blog user. Anyway, thanks for the feedback and concern.

Take care,
TiM
