Who the heck was Blockbuster??!!
What is the story with this Blockbuster character? I've been collecting Batman stuff for years now. I am especially into the 1966 era toys. I've come across his likeness again and again on games and toys, but I don't get it. He wasn't on the television show and as far as I know he wasn't in the comics. So, can anyone enlighten me? WAS he in the comic books and I've just never seen him? Or was he invented so toymakers wouldn't have to pay licensing fees?
Just wondering...

Nevermind. I just found the Wikipedia entry:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blockbuster_%28comics%29#In_other_media
I'm still interested in any discussion regarding this third rate villain.

Blockbuster was in the comic books but not for very long. I too collect a ton of the vintage toys & he pops-up A LOT! I'm not sure why he was so popular, he's not that great of a villain. My theory is he made it to some model sheet they sent to toy companies & ended up on a lot of products.

Yes, this makes sense. Of all of the cool villains there were it's unfortunate that he made the cut. Scarecrow would have been an incredible likeness to use for this purpose.
