Re: What is your "holy grail" Batman toy?
here is the link--
http://cgi.ebay.com/Batman-foe-The-Joker-cereal-bowl-from-the-40s_W0QQitemZ5924599130QQihZ010QQcategoryZ48965QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem
Is that it? Pretty neat piece. Although I'm about 110% certain it's not as early as this seller says it is.

Thats one.
I'm getting mine here http://www.amazingco.com/
Click on the Action Figures link and you will see them.
I'll see if I can date it from being copyright NPP instead of DC.

Re: What is your "holy grail" Batman toy?
That item is NOT from the 1940's but from 1966. It just has some retro graphics on it.
It was sold as a Breakfast Set & was made out of Melmac Plastic. The complete set included a small dinner plate, cup ( no handle ), Joker bowl, and stainless steel fork & spoon. The fork had Batman embossed on the handle & Robin was on the spoon.
I have the plate, bowl, cup, & spoon. I'm missing the fork....arrrggggh! It took me about 8 yrs to find all these separate pieces ( This was before eBay ). The plate & bowl are pretty common on eBay. I wouldn't pay more than $10.00 to $12.00 for the bowl....it's "findable".
I'll try to get all these pieces together for a photo. Unfortunely most are in storage so it might take awhile.
The interesting thing about my PLATE is that it's the ONLY item in my entire massive Batman Collection that I originally owned as a kid. So, for that reason, it has tons of sentimental value. My Nanny ( that's what we call our grandmother ) gave it to me as a gift when I was very little. It has a very small chip on the edge & I could easily "upgrade" it with a MINT one, but NEVER will!

Hey T.J.--sweet snag on that Ideal Joker. I was mulling over that one myself--had it on my watch list. I'm just so broke right now or I would have grabbed it

Re: What is your "holy grail" Batman toy?
I have this "batman collected" book, I'll look through that tonight to see if there are any pre 66 Joker stuff. Somehow though, I doubt it.

Re: What is your "holy grail" Batman toy?
I didnt find anything either.
There are some Batman toys and advertising givaways between 1949 and 1963,quite a few Batman toys in 1964-5 but everything else seems to start from '66.

Re: What is your "holy grail" Batman toy?
Besides a few paper-type premiums I don't think they made anything before 1966. In my 20+ years of hard-core collecting I have never seen or heard of ANYTHING!
The items dated 1964 are really from 1989. Some companies in 1989 ( during the 1st Tim Burton Movie ) bought cheaper licensing rights from companies who bought them in 1964 but didn't make anything for those years ( 1964-65 ). The "1964" stuff that comes to mind is a frisbee with bat-symbol, a large plastic yellow mug with bat-symbol, some napkins by an obscure party favor companie....all made DURING the 1989 Movie!
