1960s FILMATION BATMAN CARTOON SHOW
Maybe as an 'oldie' I may be pretty much on my own on this one but are there any other fans of this version of Batman out there? We had this on TV pretty much at the same time as the original show finished its first run back n the late 1960s. I love the simplicity of the stories and the animation too. Very Carmine Infantino with a few nods to the Adam West show too in style and look. I also like the Superman and Aquaman series from the same time. Have a bunch of old off air recordings from the 1980s but even now when I give them a run out I end up watching three hours worth. Any other fans?

Re: 1960s FILMATION BATMAN CARTOON SHOW
Oh Yeah, I'm familuar with those shows & really love them! Check out YouTube & you'll find a few episodes. They're really obscure & hard-to-find in the USA but they are great!!
Filmation had a weird animation-style that is parodied alot ( TV Funhouse on SNL ) because they were kind of chessy & low-budget but I like that. They sort of have a special charm to them because they are so different.
At the Bat-Blog I posted a video of the Batman Show that was aired in Japan & it's totally Japanese, check it out!

Re: 1960s FILMATION BATMAN CARTOON SHOW
Filmation did some pretty top class stuff back in the 1960s and '70s. The further Batman show, which I think is what the Japanese used as the basis for the stuff you mentioned, LASSIES RESCUE RANGERS, TARZAN LORD OF THE JUNGLE and STAR TREK of course. Pretty neat style and they used rotascoping too which for a TV show is pretty sophisticated giving the figures a fluid life like movement. (Worked great on Tarzan!) Glad to see you like the Batman cartoon stuff too. Adam West and Burt Ward provided voices for some of the 1970s cartoons and Adam did Batman on some of the later seasons of THE SUPERFRIENDS for Hanna Barbera. Made them even more appealing to me back then hearing the 'real' Batman doing the voice. Kinda like Bud Collyer doing Superman in the cartoons after having provided the radio voice.

I love them. I grew up watching the reruns of these, and bought the VHS release of some of them back in the day. I also taped a bunch of them when they played on Boomerang.

Re: 1960s FILMATION BATMAN CARTOON SHOW
Yeah that's right! A VHS release of some of these shows happened back in the 1980s. They were sold under the title 'THE SUPER POWERS COLLECTION' to tie up with the Kenner figures. These can be picked up on eBay and there are a few VHS tapes on there at the moment. Batman is part of the listings and they are pretty cheap too so worth grabbing if you ain't seen them before.
You get about 45 minutes worth of stuff. Maybe 8 or 9 episodes but Batman is a little less I think. Same time but longer episodes. SUPERBOY was part of the set too. Worth checking out for sure.
