Re: 1960s FILMATION BATMAN CARTOON SHOW
Those cartoons were my first introduction to Batman. I LOVED them. I rented a bunch on video in the early '90s to satisfy my nostalgia for them, but they didn't really hold up that well for me. It's the same for most animation from this era. The character designs and backgrounds are what I still respond favorably to. The animation is painful to behold.

Re: 1960s FILMATION BATMAN CARTOON SHOW
I agree with the animation quality issue but now I think that gives them a lot of nostalgic appeal. They're really cheesy but they're so bad they are good, ha ha.
Who knows, maybe in the future people will totally LOVE the Batman & Robin movie ( with Clooney ) because it's so bad...nah.

Re: 1960s FILMATION BATMAN CARTOON SHOW
Hi guys
First post over here, though some of you may know me already from over on MediWorld, just wondering exactly what series this is?
I don't remember ever seeing a Filmation series with Batmite in, but I do remember an old Batman and Robin cartoon that I quite liked. It was sixties style and there were usually two adventures per show, one that lasted thirteen minutes and another that lasted about seven or eight. Batgirl was in it, along with Joker, Penguin (in a blue suit) and the usual suspects from the 1960's Adam West show. The only new villain I remember was Simon The Pieman.
Anyone else know what show I'm talking about and is it out on DVD yet?

I think you are remembering the same show. I vaguely remember the Pie-man and am pretty sure it was the Filmation cartoon.

Re: 1960s FILMATION BATMAN CARTOON SHOW
Sweet!
May well pick up this DVD then, I'm in the UK but have a multi region player so I could still watch this. I've bought a couple of series of Superfriends and enjoy them despite the high camp factor because they are traditional cartoons.

Re: 1960s FILMATION BATMAN CARTOON SHOW
Wow didn't realise all these episodes were available on You Tube, thanks for the link, that was exactly the show I was talking about, I remember the episode How Many Herrings In A Wheelbarrow very clearly. Is this show on DVD yet then?
Gonna have me a Bat fest shortly

Re: 1960s FILMATION BATMAN CARTOON SHOW
If ya read the Bat-Blog you would know this information. Ha Ha, I'm sorry, I meant for that to sound like a joke! Yes, it's out on DVD & I really want it bad. In a way, it's kind of a dumb cartoon ( Bat-Mite really gets on my nerves ) but I used to love watching it along time ago. Here's a link to the post I did awhile back. It was buried deep in the archives.

Re: 1960s FILMATION BATMAN CARTOON SHOW
I'm confused though.
How many filmation Batman series were there?
Because the Bat Mite one seems to have been made in 1977 and the Adventures Of Batman And Robin without Batmite was released in 1968. Is that part of the DVD set already released or will there be another box set in the near future?
Either way I'm gonna pick up the set already released on Region One DVD.
