The Batman & Batman Beyond

What are your opinions of these two series? I haven't seen them yet. I have season 2 of The Batman but I'm waiting until I get season 2 before I watch it (plus I still have the rest of the TAS stuff to get through).

Batman Beyond is one of those series that you either like it or you hate it. I liked it, it was an interesting concept. Had some cool villains and some good stories. I would suggest possibly renting or watching an episode or two on line before purchasing the DVD sets.

The Batman I buy on DVD sets because I dont get a chance to watch them on Saturdays because I work. This series defintely isnt up to par with TAS thats for sure. Its just a typical Saturday morning cartoon.

Re: The Batman & Batman Beyond

I love BATMAN BEYOND! I remember before the series came out & I saw the picture of what Batman was gonna look like I was kinda upseat. Ya know, the red & black "future suit", LOL. But I gave the show a chance when it came out & the animation quality was really very good. The stories are pretty intellegent & well done. I ended up being a really big fan of the show....it's very very good.

THE BATMAN I'm kinda conflicted with. There's things I like about it, things I hate ( like the bare-footed dreadlock Joker ). Because of my strange work scedule I really don't get to see many episodes of this show & will have to play catch-up with the DVDs. I've purposely watched a few of the very 1st episodes on YouTube to get an idea about what it's like...it's OK. I guess I like it because it is Batman but it's not anywhere as great as the Animated Series ( or even Batman Beyond ) was. WB is on the 4th Season of this show & I've read reviews that alotta people are thinking it's getting alot better so we'll see.

The Batman is better this season, but that isn't saying much. I'm with you Tommy about the joker, it just DOESN'T WORK. Some of the other villains are ok, but they really screwed him up, and that just ruins the series for me most of the time. Although I did enjoy "artifacts" from this season.

Re: The Batman & Batman Beyond

From what I've seen on You Tube recently the fourth and fifth seasons of The Batman are much better than the earlier ones. I think only the first season of the show was absolutely dire but that kinda sealed it's fate. I don't like some of the villain reimagings (in my mind the Penguin by far is the worse) but the show has alot of positives too and improves with each season.

Batman Beyond was ok, considering it was a superhero cartoon set in the far future it should've been absolute crap but it wasn't it was pretty good. Neither one is a patch on BTAS but that could be said about most comic book based cartoons since BTAS is a classic. But both The Batman and Batman Beyond are way better than the average cartoon fare.
