Despite my reservations about Mr. Ledger's ability to play a great Joker, I have faith in Chris Nolan as a director. I know he won't let me down, if he says Heath is the Joker, then Heath is the Joker, no doubt about it.

I was a bit shocked when they announced Heath for the role of Joker...but I agree wholeheartedly with you, LilBones. They chose him for a reason and I can't wait to see him in action.
I recently re-read The Long Halloween and am wondering about who they'll end up casting as Harvey Dent. I know the rumors are between Jamie Foxx and Eion Bailey. Jamie Foxx has become a phenomenal actor and I haven't seen Bailey in anything I can remember, so I think either would work. I would like to see Bailey land the role, he looks like Dent in the Long Halloween.
I just can't believe we have to wait until next year for the movie!!!

Harvey Dent rumors

Jamie's definately come a long way since Booty Call! I wouldn't mind seeing him as Dent. Let's just hope we don't have another Billy Dee to Tommy Lee transformation though! emoticon emoticon

Im anxious to hear some official news on TDK, it should be coming, they start shooting in a couple months.

I must admit tho, I wasnt blown away by Begins, I was a bit let down by what we got. I found it to be a bit boring and "plain". Im hoping that with Joker being brought in we will get a huge event of a movie. Batman vs. Joker. It doesnt get bigger than that and I would like to see WB start the advertising juggernaught they have come to be known as go to work for this film.

I can't wait until THE DARK KNIGHT movie comes out. I really enjoyed BATMAN BEGINS & hope the sequel is just as good.

I'm a little concerned about Heath Ledger as The Joker but I read somewhere that he is gonna play him VERY realistic so that might be very cool. That's one of the things I like about Chris Nolan's concept of Batman. That he directs Batman like he's a "real person".

I wasn't real excited about Batman Begins at first but after really paying attention I like it a lot. It definitely fills most of the gap between orphan and hero.

I admit that I was not in the least excited about Heath Ledger as the joker but I kind of felt the same way when I first heard the casting choices for the other Batman movies. Keaton, Kilmer and Clooney playing Batman?! Alicia Silverstone as Batgirl (I'm still not sure about that one). Carey as the riddler? Thurman as Poison Ivy? Pfeiffer Catwoman? Etc. But they worked a lot better than I thought they would. Devito as Penguin and Nicholson as Joker were genius.

It will be interesting to see.

As for Harvey Dent, I'm not sure why they have to change the race of characters (Kingpin in Daredevil, Barry as Catwoman, etc.). It's nothing against other races but that's not how the characters were created! It's kinda like having a Martin Luther King Jr. movie with Bob Saget as MLK (I know MLK was real and these characters are fictional but...still!) I never liked Eartha Kitt as Catwoman, either.

So true. As long as Chris Nolan is at the helm, I know we're in for some great Bat movies.

Re: ANTICIPATION!!!!!!!

I'm happy to see that the majority of the speculation on this board is positive. I really have grown tired of nay-sayers and critisism from fans on other boards. Although everyone is entitled to their opinion, i just want everybody to wait and see what Ledger's going to be like as Joker. It's my prediction that he's going to be phenominal in it and make the role his own. But many people feel Nolan might be going bonkers casting him.

Lets just wait and see. I have faith in Nolan. Every film he makes gets better and better. Insomnia after Memento. Batman Begins was great and the Prestige blew it away in my opinion. I cannot wait for The Dark Knight to rock us all right out of our socks. I mean, the title really says it all doesn't it?!

And for those of you still doubting Ledger's casting. Lets take a look at Nolan's casting portfolio.

He turned Mrs. Doubtfire into a dark, murderous villain.
He turned Gary Oldman (the crazy bad guy from The 5th Element, umong other villainous roles) into JIM GORDON!
He turned Wolverine into a obsessive magician.
He turned Patrick Bateman into Bruce Wayne.
and he turned a Jedi Knight, into Ra's.

I trust his judgement.

Ha Ha, That's pretty funny & I totally agree. In interviews I've read w/ Nolan he seems to really care about Batman as a classic iconic character & not just some "property". I think he also understands that alot of people really care too.
