1960s TV BATMAN COWL REPLICA!!!!!!!!
This is a pic of me in my newly made Adam West style cowl. I didn't make it I just bought it from a talented and great guy called Chuck Williams. He and his wife create what is pretty much without question the most authentic replica TV Batman outfits around. I am not a 'dressing up' type of fella and will just display this but I couldn't resist slipping it on for a shot or two. The cowl is made from a cast of an original cowl, or measurments thereof, so is a little large for me but with the piece of fabric doing an OK job as a makeshift cape I thought you guys would like to see what some guys are capable of. (Chuck that is and not me!)

You do see these on eBay but the guy I got mine from only makes them to order. He charges a set price and gives a time span and you go for it or you don't kinda thing. I am pretty happy with it and look forward to getting it protected in a little display thing.

The guy is Chuck Williams. He is in the US near Chicago I think. I do have an email address but I did find on occassion the emails bounced back because of his filter system but we were also communicating through another Batman message board too on a regular basis. I have always wanted a cowl like this but the price has always been way too high for me. Not too high in terms of 'Value For Money' just too high for me to be able to afford. I was laid off work last year and got some severance pay but luckily walked straight into a new job so I had some 'spending money. That's the only way I could have afforded it. I ain't rich. I decided I wanted to get the best I could and Chuck's cowls are pretty much acknowledged by 1966 TV Batman fans and costume people as the best. There are are others which are pretty nice no question but Chuck doesn't rush (Usually 10-12 weeks) which leads to a great finish, he doesn't cut corners and for me most important he is a nice guy who will not con you. I was sending a great deal of money across the Atlantic and wanted to be sure it was to a guy who wouldn't stiff me. I will add that foreign buyers may be hit with Import Charges on a thing of this value. I paid a hundred quid ($200 approx) Just to get it across and into England but it is totally worth it. I can't say enough about Chuck and his wife's attention to detail and customer care.

If you have trouble emailing him give me a shout and I will pass details on to him and he will get back to you direct I would imagine but do try first. Good luck. You won't regret it. He has tracked down people who made the real fabric back in the 1960s and has had access to a real cowl for measurments and stuff. It won't fit everone, in fact it is too big for me, but for a display thing it is just incredible. Here is a shot of the cowl just before it was sent over. No sign of my ugly mug so it gives you a better idea of how well Chuck does stuff.

Wow! That cowl is absolutely first rate. May I ask what you paid for it? This Chuck Williams guy is one talented SOB. Do you know if he only makes them in the one size or if he can custom fit a cowl? Can you send me his e-mail so that I can talk with him about having one made? Thanks.
