 Original Screen Worn Batman Costume from BATMAN RETURNS to be sold at Auction May 10th
Would you like to own one of the original SCREEN WORN Batman Suits worn in BATMAN RETURNS? One of the original Batsuits is about to be auctioned off on May 10th in Signature House Auction out of West Virginia. I have only seen one other screen used suit from Batman Returns over the years and it sold last year at auction for $103,000. This Batsuit has amazing provenance having come from Jay Ohrberg, the designer and builder of the original Batmobile used in three of the original films. He had obtained this costume while working on the production of Batman Returns.
You can check out the upcoming Batman auction at Signature House Auction website: www.signaturehouse.net where you can register and bid or you can also bid online on the www.liveauctioneers.com website (this auction will show up soon on their website). Catalogues are currently being processed, so you can request one if interested. This Batman suit is appraised anywhere from $15,000-$75,000, but I know it has a low reserve price so it may sell for a lower price. If you are a serious Batman collector, this may be your only chance to own an original screenworn Batman costume. Good luck.
