the scandal in the Church has been beat into the ground as if Catholic priests are the only ones who could do such a thing.

No that isn't the case. If that were true you wouldn't be able to find those stories. The scandal comes from the rigidness of keeping RC priests as celebate as recieving more attention.

It is more appropriate to discuss the issue at hand. Quoting scandals in other demoinations takes away from the issue being discussed.

Celibacy is their choice and the number exceeded the Protestant number showing that celibacy wasn't 'the problem' people have tried to make it out to be.

What does quoting something about Protestant sex cases have to do with this?

What it has to do with is that there are as many, if not more, cases of abuse in Protestant churches where celibacy is not required.

The celibacy discipline is not the problem. The vast majority of our priests were not molesting minors and have been faithful to the vows they have taken. The problem is that against the 1961 Vatican Directive, homosexuals were ordained. Most cases involved priests molesting adolescent boys.

Did I say anywhere the problem was celebacy? No. The only thing I said is that the RCC will recieve more attention because 1/2 of Christianity is Roman Catholic and the guidelines for ministerial duties are more rigid than other sect and thus will attract more attention. That much should be expected.

I can say other things on the matter if you want to take more issue with what I said.

My apologies, Knux, but it sounded like that's what you were claiming.

"...the rigidness of keeping RC priests as celibate..." So what did you mean by the rigidness of keeping RC priests celibate?

The priests choose this life, nobody forced them or keeps them, they chose.

KK consider this;married men committ acts of pedophilia and homosexuality and some women teachers have been getting involved with their younger male students lately(all over the news). We can't claim rigidness is the cause here.

PPL are pedophiles because they are-wether they're married or single. If the acts that these priests committed were homosexual in nature that's another matter too.Rigidness would have had nothing to do with that either.

This was a terrible scandal all the way around.

But these men would have done the same thing wether they were celibate or not.
Married or not.
God Bless,
p4p
