Introduction to Interfaith Dialogue

This forum is dedicated to St. Francis of Assisi who bore the stigmata of the love of his life,Jesus..
The interfaith Christian forum is going to be a forum where people of different faiths can try to find common ground. The emphasis will be on Protestant-Catholic dialouge, but all faiths are welcome.
We will not gloss over differences. A true spirit of ecumenism requires participants to be honest and open.
When you come here try to look for common ground and explore possible misunderstandings.A lot of times I've watched these kinds of forums turn into a sporting event rather than a dialouge.
It's not a soccer match for points to be won or a boxing match to see who gets the knock out punch.

The dictionary definition of Ecumenism:
ecumenism
n : (Christianity) the doctrine of the ecumenical movement that promotes cooperation and better understanding among different religious denominations: aimed at universal Christian unity
I doubt we're going to achieve Christian unity on a message board but I believe we can promote co-operation and better understanding.
Ok. For newcomers to Interfaith here's the ground rules:
1. no name calling or personal attacksImage
2. no terms such as bible thumpers,
romish(and it's derogatives)or 'you people'.Or
statements like 'you ppl are going to hell etc.' You get the picture. The post may be edited, deleted and you might even end up walking the plank.

3. You can ASK someone to use
a particular version of scripture but you cannot DEMAND that they do so.

4.if you feel a knock down drag em out fight coming on PLS take it to Defense of the Bride.

We could sum it all up this way:

Just make yourself at home and
treat others the way you would like to be treated.
