Can a Christian support abortion?
As we explore Scripture, we are met with an undeniable reality, that when God came to earth in the Incarnation, He walked as one of us and all of us. This is shown by the idea that He could take upon Himself all of our sin and pay that price on the Cross. It is shown when He says somebody fed Him, clothed Him, and visited Him in prison. What we do for the least of our brothers we do for Him. This is the Scriptural reality.
There in Scripture we find another Scriptural reality. In Luke 1:42 we find Elizabeth saying to Mary, the mother of our Lord, "blessed is the fruit of your womb!" She was refering to the fetus in the womb. She was referring to our Lord. Even then, He was one of us representing all of us. Even then as the smallest of human life, He was all of human life for every generation and onto eternity. What we do for the least of our brothers . . . Can there be any doubt when we look at these things together that Jesus knew this generation would come? Can there be any doubt that such things were included in Scripture so in this culture of death we would know the truth?
If Jesus is the life of all of us, then we must look and see that all life in the womb, the fruit of every womb, is blessed. Jesus came for all, even the smallest person at the beginning of life. Blessed is the fruit of the womb.
No Christian can stand in support of abortion. Can you imagine the guy who cries out "Lord, Lord . . ." and Jesus looks at him and says "You killed me."
The guy would look a bit befuzzled and reply, "When, Lord? I am a Christian."
"When I was in the womb, you supported killing me, for whatever you did to the least of my brothers, that you did unto me."
Blessed is the fruit of the womb...
--- DEUS meus, ex toto corde amo Te super omnia, quia es infinite bonus et infinite amabilis; et ob amorem Tui proximum meum diligo sicut meipsum, eique, si quid in me offendit, ignosco.
