Pentecost Sunday
Troparion
Blessed art Thou, O Christ our God, who hast made the fishermen wise by sending down upon them the Holy Spirit, and by them didst draw the world into Thy net. O Merciful Lord, glory to Thee.
Acts 2: 1-11.
John 7: 37-52.
Pentecost Monday
The Byzantine Rite today has a beautiful service called the Office of Kneelings, prayers in honor of the Holy Spirit. The Maronite Rite has a similar office on Pentecost Sunday.
Eph 5: 8-19.
Matt 18: 10-20.
Tuesday
Rom. 1: 1-7 and 13-17.
Matt 4: 23-25 and 5: 1-13.
Re: Byzantine Liturgy Daily Readings I was going to post the prayers for the Office of Kneelings, but they are so extermely long that I decided against it. During Vespers, there is a litany in honoe of the Holy Spirit that is sung, along with other prayers, and three very long prayers, the actual 'kneelings', that are asking God to give us the graces of the indwelling of the Holy Spirirt. They are quite beautiful, but as I said, are extremely long. I think that everyone that is serious about learning about and praying Byzantine spirituality should invest in a copy of Byzantine Daily Worship-it is really well worth the money. I am not aware of a link that would have these offices on it.

First Sunday after Pentecost
Sunday of All Saints
The Byzantine Rite today celebrates all the saints of God, as the Latin Rite does on November 1.
Troparion
O Christ our God, Thy Church, crimsoned with the blood of Thy martyrs all over the world as with a cloak of murex and porphiry, cries out to Thee: "Send Thy mercy upon Thy people, grant peace to Thy fold, and extend Thy great compassion upon our souls."
Hebrews 11: 33 to 12: 2.
Mattthew 10: 32-38 and 19: 27-30.
Monday
Rom. 2: 28 to 3: 18.
Matt. 6: 31-34 and 7: 9-11.

Fifth Sunday after Pentecost
Sunday of the Fathers of the Six Ecumenical Councils.
This Sunday commemorates the fathers of the first six ecumenical councils of the Church.
These councils are of paramount importance for the Church because they defined the very basic aspects of doctrine and settled theological disputes under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Byzantine Catholic and Greek-rite Orthodox Christians celebrate this feast today to emphasize the importance of these councils.
