His Legacy is Not something that anyone should be proud of.
"Obey your superiors and be subject to them, for they keep watch as having to render an account of your souls; so that they may do this with joy, and not with grief, for that would not be expedient for you."
Hebrews 13:17
Martin Luther, the originator of the false man-made doctrine of Sola Scriptura and its accompanying individual interpretation of Holy Scripture, obviously avoided that verse, and many others as well. Sola Scriptura, or Bible only, means, "if it is not in the Bible, I will not believe it".

1)Sola Scriptura is not Solo Scriptura. Sola Scriptura doesn't mean if its not in the Bible, I won't believe it.
2) Designating Hebrews 13:17 as describing Martin Luther is a serious case of Eisegesis. In no way does it describe Martin Luther, nor is the quoted verse in context.

Re: The Legacy left by Martin Luther The page is a lot longer than what I quoted, the link is in the title of that quote. In a way I'm probably spoiled as I 'listen' to long pages instead of reading them because I still have the knack of reading the same line over and over again which gets frustrating... I think it has to do with double vision etc. I don't know what I'd do without my cordless headphones... have 2 pairs, one charges while I'm using the other... I don't have the patience to sit at a computer for long. :)
I see all the splinters and the splinters don't fit together anymore. My first venturing back to God (or perhaps the beginning of my search) was still in the midst of my 'medium' days and that was to the Worldwide Church of God, they only hold service on Saturdays per Armstrong's vision (from the 40's I believe), they had a split of their own in the 90's. There's so much self interpretation lacking true leadership. I remember in my AoG days being told, "whatever scripture says to you"... I struggled with that. Now when I look back I see how so much of this self interpretation instead of going through the Church has led to all these break offs.
As the webmaster states, where is the documentation of the 'great apostasy' that occurred in the Church? I so fell into believing Hislop's book and Chick's book on "Understanding Catholicism"... in retrospect even the psychic community was using the passage about spiritual gifts and discerning spirits to mean communicating with spirits.
I know now that my first time around being Catholic, I didn't get it. I grew up with Twilight Zone, Outer Limits, and the like... always wanting to find more and I tried to mesh that into Catholicism.. that was my own fault. I can't blame the Church for that.
Further splits began in Luther's time and keep on going.

correction on Worldwide Church of God
quote:
The Worldwide Church of God is rooted in the teachings of Herbert W. Armstrong, which some say stem from his earlier involvement in the Adventist movement of William Miller and followers. He himself claimed that his teachings were the true teachings of the Bible, which he said had been replaced over the centuries by tradition through the seminaries and mistranslation. In 1927 Armstrong was baptized into a church of this movement, the Church of God. Armstrong was ordained by the Oregon Conference of the Church of God (Seventh-Day) in 1931, and began serving a congregation in Eugene, Oregon.
I knew it was Armstrong, forgot his first name. Skimming through that I see they're antiCatholic too. I remember they also didn't observe Easter or Christmas but Biblical feast days like the Feast of Trumpets, etc. It's a long story how I ended up there first but it was right after the ouija board mayhem.
I honestly didn't even realize they rejected the Trinity. I attended 1 service then their week long Festival of Trumpets. That would've been 1993.

Re: The Legacy left by Martin Luther Since the Wikipedia article had two reporting errors, just to be fair, here's from the WWCG directly; Worldwide Church of God.
