This covers all of it, like why were Bibles chained to the pulpit? So they weren’t stolen considering how expensive it was to make a Bible in those days. And burning of Bibles, why? Because of ones that had errors, they were destroyed and Protestants burned Bibles too.
AND...
On this site you will find the British Library’s two copies of Johann Gutenberg’s Bible, the first real book to be printed using the technique of printing which Gutenberg invented in the 1450s.

Kinda hard to stick to Catholics adding to the Bible if the 7 books in question were there in 1450's.
