Yes there are evil books out there, I don't want them, I don't want to see them, but neither do I want the responsibility of censoring what can and cannot be read.
agreed and even group book burnings is not necessarily censorship.Hasah is doing this on her own..but even a group book burning for the same reasons Hasah did are not neccesarily censorship.

I'm with you that there evil books out there and we can be like you Onyx.Responsible by not getting them or reading them.

We're pretty much in agreement there!!!

On the other hand there is SOME censorship in our country.We are not free to do whatever we want,say whatever we want,publish whatever we want.
There are laws that govern our lives.
I will admit though censorship isn't what it used to be.When i was a kid growing up the shows were a lot different.Censorship has its place.
I do know what you are alluding to though.Governements that have done certain things that were oppressive.I would never advocate that!!I do know Hasah isn't advocating that either-but i see you got the gyst of what she really meant.

Could I ask you to explain that further please? And where in the Catechism that is from? I just think it needs some clarification. I could be wrong but it sounds as if you mean that intent alone is what determines whether or not an action is sinful.
