You bring up an interesting point. Maybe a warning so you don't forget the terrorists with Tony Blair leaving? Or they might have had it planned all along, just because you're a democratic Western nation. Not sure.

I'm not trying to watch too much news, I got quite addicted to Sky news at one point where the stories just roll around provoking hysteria & depression.
I hear that. After 9/11 I became addicted to the 24 hour news channels and the talking heads. Too much after awhile. Because they run out of real news to report, they start guessing and conjecturing so they can stay on the air.
It's important to stay informed, but there's a lot of other stuff also going on in the world (e.g., China, Darfur, food shortages, etc.).

My wife's home alot now so it's 24hour cookery & gardening programs! Perhaps the local news with storys of cats stuck up in trees & county fairs!!
Hey, my wife loves that stuff too! I like the history channel better but I never get to watch it.
And P4P is right, a lot of the stuff on the news is downright baloney. But with a free media, it's up to us to sift that crap out.
Thought I'd find a forum so I could do a little chat and Q & A, so hope this is ok and I've come to the right place!
I'm a Christian who worships in the Protestant (Presbyterian) side of the family. If you have questions about Catholic Christianity you want to investigate on the internet, I think you have found a good place. There are some very knowledgeable and faithful moderate Catholic Christians here, and I think you'll get much better and more thoughtful answers than you will at some bigger boards.
I'd like to second Praying's offer. Tell us where you are with God!
What are you feeling about God, and Jesus of Nazareth? Is there something you find attractive about them?
Re: Hello there! I've gotten disgruntled with TV. First, don't have the greatest reception in this area for some reason, 2 they're getting rid of analog signal unless you want to pay for the digital converter when they finally switch it over... so much for my Sony Watchman (it got me through a week w/no power and was $50 at the time on sale), 3. when I briefly had cable they kept showing infomercials, why pay for commercials? Then the price doubled when the local company was taken over. 4. Programing, a lot of it is stuff that you would've expected on adult stations in the 80's and now it's played during normal air time. 5 I think it was a year or more ago already, I turned it on because I was bored and got some extreme dating show, it was on for all of a minute... I couldn't believe what I was hearing and just shut if off. I can watch things on the internet if I really want or I still have probably 60 VHS tapes and a few DVDs. Eventually may try to put the VHS on DVD. I must have near 100 cassette tapes for music too.

I know why I came here, frustration! although through meditation I've discovered that the 'self' was getting in the way and causing me delusions.
I am a Pagan, and I'm proud to be one so I have doubled my energy in beginning to help creat a better local Pagan community & to futher strengthen my faith.
I have a very large respect for all faiths and take lessons from each, I've reciently been learning from the Buddhist Darma of which has helped me much in attaining focus & direction.
Catholisicm is a beautiful faith although for me there dwells alot of personal negative thinking.
On the positive side :
Judge not less ye be judged is one of my favorites and I'll carry this with me always.
I do wish you all well and a bright & positive future.
Brightest Blessings to you all.
I don’t know if you’ll get to read this or not but I wanted to apologize if anything I said gave you a negative impression. I never called myself a pagan but I had friends that were pagans, they were the most supportive of my ‘gift’ when I thought I was a medium. There’s a lot in paganism I didn’t embrace as I never stopped believing in God. I look at the world around us, what God created (not the mess man has made) and I’m in awe. When I go to Niagara Falls and hear the force of the waters below I’m speechless. I could stay there for hours just listening.
When you look around at creation, do you see maybe someone behind it all? Just curious. I hope our paths do cross again and you'll be in my prayers.

Yes, that's right. It's been over a year now but I'd thought I'd stop by as more interesting turns have come accross my path!
You might remember that I'm a Pagan and have been for many years but every so ofter I get this very strong urge to investigate feelings for Catholicism.
Over the last year I have built up a local Pagan community as much as I can and like most things I put myself into there never is the same emthusiasm from others. Most people just come along for the ride.
Well I still keep plugging away and it doe's kinda drag sometimes.
So what am I doing here.
Let's just say I've been back to Lisieux and Therese has knocked me off my feet again!
Well, I'm always looking for somewhere to meditate/contemplate & pray etc in peace & quiet but it's almost imposible here so why not in a church building?
In France the doors of Catholic churches are always open and very quiet and I just love being inside.
I must add here that I've suffered from Anxiety & depression for over 10 years and finding peace is a big must have.
So now Im going with the flow, not too sure what to think at the moment as I've 100's of thought going through my head. So I'm just going to keep meditating etc. although I don't think I can enter my local Catholic churches without something like Mass going on!
As I said, I'm just riding the feelings and seeing where it takes me as I'm just filled up with this love but not sure where to direct it.
And as for the last question asked a while back, I believe in an infinate love (God/Goddess) but find this very difficult to describe and I've never really been that clear about it.
