(from Buffalo News)
quote:

Pregnant woman beaten by boyfriend "to make her lose that baby"

Updated: 03/26/08 11:21 AM

A pregnant woman was beaten this morning by a man who told her that he was going to "make her lose that baby," according to Buffalo police.

The man, believed to be the father of the unborn child, is accused of repeatedly punching the woman in her head, face, and body.

The woman suffered cuts, swelling and bruising to her ear, face, and throat. It was unclear whether she was treated in the hospital and the condition of the fetus was unknown.

Central District Police said the assault occurred at about 1:15 a.m. at the woman's Hickory Street home.

The man told her that "her getting pregnant was the worst thing that could happen to him."

He also threatened her and said he was "gonna make her lose that baby," police reported.

The man broke the woman's cell phone before leaving.

Note how even our news media says "unborn child". We need to say a prayer for all three, the woman and her unborn child & the father.

If the news is saying "unborn baby", then she must be around her late second or third trimester. It is pathetic for the man to beat her for that reason. As the saying goes; "It takes two to tango".

Regardless of when in the pregnancy, an unborn child is still an unborn child. Why else are murders of a pregnant woman considered 2 counts of murder and not one?
