Re: Greetings from the CK
Hey Cl0wn,
Love those new Aliens and Marines!!! They are some really detailed models.
Did you acquire or import one of them from the AVP2 game? It looks identical to the "Drone" or was it just really close attention to detail

Re: Greetings from the CK
I acctually imported them from a UT 2004 Aliens mod. I assume the creator of the Unreal mod imported them from another game or made them himself. The marines were based on some pictures and made from bits and pieces of other models and some original fabrication.

Re: Greetings from the CK
All in all, those Aliens and Marines are really impressive, it might just be worth the bother of "asking" everyone at the CK to get them lol
Anyway, I hate to be a pain, but Ihave a sort of request... and you did a really awesome job of the Demortia skin so I know you would do a great job of this one, thats if you have the time
I tried to mess about with the "Pirafee" skin ( which is the official character skin of one of our CK members ) because of recent storyline events, her particular character, under certain circumstances, morphs or transforms into a Wraith-like entity.
What I did was, add an upgrade which took the basic un-upgraded model, and made the textures ghostly transparent.
Lets just say, in theory it was a brilliant idea, but in practice, it didnt turn out so well. My skill lies with mapping though so I'm not really that good with skins ( as well as being short on spare time ).
So I was wondering if you would be able to create an upgrade thats like a wraith based on the original Pirafee skin ( no need to create the whole thing though as Ratz is quite happy with it as it is, plus creating only the upgrade would save a lot of time and work )
I tried simply adding the original Wraith model but it goes all warped and horrible ( I would guess its because of the skeleton, or bones or whatever they are )
Something like the upper part of the Pirafee model, but the legs and lower torso trailing off into a wraith-like tail that emits ghostly vapours ( I guess like a Genie kind of thing ) while the whole model itself is ghostly transparent but it would unmistakably resemble the identity of the Pirafee model.
Anyway, thanks for listening, if you have other projects in the works, thats fine but if you ever feel like tackling this one then let me know

Re: Greetings from the CK
Which one is the, "Pirafee" model? I am thinking the best way to do this is to make it a discipline. That way your player could transform into the wraith and use the proper wraith bones, animation and effects. I don't think it should be too difficult.

Re: Greetings from the CK
Alright, having played around with this for a bit here is what I think I'll do: I am going to make two disciplines. The first will transform the user into a generic wraith. The second will transform the user into a Pirafee wraith. Both will be accessible in the common disciplines and operate like a normal discipline. I will make a wraith ring for each discipline so that when a player wears the ring the effect will last until the ring is removed. I think this will give you the best of both worlds. If there is a more appropriate item with which to associate the curse let me know.

Re: Greetings from the CK
Awesome! Couldnt ask for more, Ratz will be pleased
The ring idea is great too, I cant see there being any problem with that
Thanks for doing this for us
Oh, also, I had a couple of other ideas, I wouldnt ever use them though so its not another request or anything lol.
Has anyone ever tried to make a "Predator" skin? or even a Terminator?
I had the idea about a Terminator for a few years now and no ones ever seem to have made one.
You'd start off with the basic metal endoskeleton, and the various upgrades would add different stages of the skin being torn away. So you'd have a completely enclosed upgrade where the Terminator looks like a normal human, but as it takes varying degrees of damage, then the player would shift down armour levels ( showing patches of endo skeleton underneath ) untill the final version, the unarmour model shows the complete endoskeleton.
As for a Predator, I can imagine that would be fairly simple, with some item that is simply "cloak of shadows" but it would also have special custom weapons and stuff.
The only real use for these would be Movie Remakes or "What If" scenarios, but potentially they could be a ton of fun and together with the Aliens, an AVP movie remake would be pretty cool ( might even encourage new players to pick up Vamp if advertised strategically )

Re: Greetings from the CK
I actually have some predator models sitting in a folder waiting to be converted. The terminator idea is pretty unique. Perhaps when I am finished upgrading the original game models I will work on the terminator.
