Re: Been lurking for months =)
I'm thinking of buying another LCD and see how long it takes for my health to degrade =)
I mean I never gave a LCD more then two or three days at most which may not be enough time but my eyes were so bugged out it just frigging sucks so bad.

Re: Been lurking for months =)
Regarding the comment you referred to on YouTube, quoting him (see below), note he's confused because people also have had complaints about plasma and/or CRT - including me. See elsewhere on my site, board & survey for that.
quote: So after pinning my hopes on LED for years, I am now going to have to use a plasma for my computer monitor! (I have no problem with either plasma or CRT screens.)

Re: Been lurking for months =)
My folks just got a laptop with cheap ass lcd screen I hope it doesn't mess up their eyes they had a CRT for the past few years.
I turned down the brightness for them =)
I debating weather I should buy a LCd tommorow and try it out ONCE AGAIN.
I'm going to give myself a chance this time to adjust to it.
It just pisses me off I can't use the damn things.

Something that I experienced when I had my bout with the LCD...
Once my eyes got messed up from the LCD, I found myself oversensitive to EVERYTHING. Things that had never bothered my eyes were furthering the problem. At the instruction of my eye doctor I stayed home, avoided the TV, and missed several days of work. At all costs I stayed out of fluorescent lighting.
That's pretty much what it took to get better. Then I could go back to normal activities like nothing happened.

Re: Been lurking for months =)
Yeah, but what's the continuation of the story?
What happened when the guy had to go back to work?
That's the problem with the internet (and often with real-life as well). You get to read/hear something, but never find out the ENTIRE story. Rather only a tiny snatch you're privy to. You often don't get to ask followup questions, since the people are long gone.
As for myself - get a load of this for SCARY:
Lately, even after just a short time on the computer, I get this fiery chest pain for days afterward. And a heaviness in the area of my heart, making breathing painful.
My heart was ALWAYS the healthiest part of me & so were my eyes. Now they're both in bad shape. As for the rest of me, I was always prone to sensitivities & fibromyalgia since childhood.
But NEVER my eyes & heart. Now I have problems everywhere, premature aging, hair that's more white than brown, and weight gain including a paunch, which I can ill afford since I'm petite.
I'm sure I have bodywide atherosclerosis. It explains all my symptoms, including leg/ankle pain, heart pain, eye symptoms, cysts... everything.
So where does computer radiation come into the picture?
Because the EMR may dislodge (i.e. "jiggle") the calcifications - waking up those sleeping dogs to cause clogging & associated pain.
To quote Lucinda Grant:
"Calcium is known to be mobilized in the body by EMR exposure"
Lucinda quoted this at the The World Health Organization (WHO) conference in Geneva, Switzerland about the link between electromagnetic radiation (EMR) exposure and health effects.:

Re: Been lurking for months =)
Almost bought a HP LCD today but my eyes were totally strainned from work today and I said hell with it if the last threee LCDS didn't provide me with comfort this one sure the hell isn't.
I'll just pretend I live in the 1920s and wait two decades for OLEDs to come out.
But like you said they look really bright but I seen some models that don't look bright at all like the Sony one being squeezed by hand look just right.
I think with LCDs it's the brightness #1 that causes eye strain #2 it's the weird fuzzy feeling from the actual LCD crystals themselves that your eyes can't adjust to well because it's soo bright.
Then you have allergic reactions from the above with can results in seizures nasusea and loss of limb control or limbs falling asleep.

Re: Been lurking for months =)
I can't emphasize enough that MOST threads you'll come across on this topic is full of STUPID STATIC.
For example, quoting your link, the below was posted by Plasmog, who doesn't realize that LIGHT IS SYNONYMOUS WITH EMF's. Then you have the "well-meaning" people who keep on parroting AD NAUSEUM stupid advices doled out by the stupid static all over the www, such as the poster (also in your link) who advised increasing frequency rate.
As long as THEY THEMSELVES ARE NOT EXPERIENCERS - hell - what do they give a damn what the minority of us suckers suffer?
quote:
QUOTING [idiotic] PLASMOG from the forum you linked:
Pseudoscientific garbage from new age crystal healing weirdos.
It's doing it to you by how it is affecting your eyes probably, there aren't "EMFs" doing things to your brain.

Re: Been lurking for months =)
Yeah I read that I quickly realaized that person never had any problems before with LCDs obviously.
The CLEAR TYPE comment that is posted all over the net is utter BS too. How is Clear Type suppose to fix your numb limbs and blacked out vision nausea and eyestrain =)
