Re: 2009M HP monitor test
Yeah the only thing I got from the LCD was I got really really warm actually sweating and it's not even hot outside really.
My eyes look all funky too and don't feel normal at all.

in answer to yours
in answer to yours re: eyeglasses, thus far (though I feel like my eyes are starting to dehydrate & age & probably I should wear reading glasses sometimes), all the glasses I wear are sunglasses - outside & while on computer. Though I wear SolarShield sunglasses, it makes no difference even if I wear other grey-tinted sunglasses. They all work the same trick. At least it's better than no shielding for the eyes, but it ain't a cure all by any means.
Re: Walmart - I think you need to take a break from that high-tech sweatshop.
Re: your tingly palms, I too, would get tingly palms when on computer too long.
There is something to be said about the LG 1530S LCD that I've been using, though. I still get symptoms but it's not totally unbearable. I'd ordered it upon feedback from someone that she was having trouble until she got an LG (see the Survey).
I'm not sure you're interested in such a small size monitor though.
Your best bet would probly be a military monitor, if you're lucky to find one at any sort of decent price. I once came across a guy who sells army surplus online, and when I phoned him, he said that the FRICKIN' authorities force him to destroy the military monitors because they contain lead or something like that. He was also mad at the gov't (who isn't except the bastards themselves?)
But the fact is, that those military monitors are most healthy for everyone to use since they're very shielded and built to last in rough terrain such as desert sun, etc.

Re: in answer to yours
It's like the monitor effects the entire nervous system. Which includes your eyes limbs and other parts. I think your body starts to panic because it's this foreign thing (LCD) freaking out your system.
I had problems with CRTS too in the past mainly Viewsonics would just fry my eyes to the point where I had to sell it to another sucker.
I heard Windows 7 the new OS isn't going to support CRT monitors with refresh rates but that is just a rumor.
I'm going to return the monitor tonight =)
Damn thing....The screen looks so nice too just can't adjust to it and I wouldn't be able to cope with it.

Re: 2009M HP monitor test
Maybe it's evil, but sometimes I wish that a few prominent geeks high up there, such as Bill Gates, Ellison (of Oracle), Larry Page (Google) would themselves develop fluorescent sensitivity.
Then maybe, with their billions, they'd find some geniouses able to develop a computer monitor that's free of backlights, like Kindle.
Speaking again of tingling palms, that's why I put in my lyrics:
Computers AND MICE make us ill
also note I mentioned on my solutions page http://www.freewebs.com/eclectives/solutions.htm that I covered my mouse with aluminum foil & Fun Tack. I think that solved my palm-tingling issue (even if not other issues). I'm talking about a basic mouse, without any scroll-wheel. For scrolling, I use either PageUp/PageDown or CTL-Home/CTL-ArrowDown which is anyway more efficient. If web pages disabled that option, I use the arrows on the right-most edge of browser.
BTW get a load of this wacko aluminum mouse:
