LG Releasing Sunlight-Illuminated LCD Display

. A few days ago, we reported that Energizer plans on debuting its solar-powered battery charger at the show. Now LG has announced the CES debut of its sunlight-illuminated 14.1 inch LCD notebook panel.

The product seems interesting for me because i think natural light is less stressfull than artificial light.
I think it's posible to use the idea even for inside usage.

I take it that something like Kindle tech can't be integrated into a computer monitor?

Every so often, when I get bad headaches & eye pain, I fantasize making several curduroy patches filled with flax seed (I already made a curduroy heating pad out of flax seeds & it's great); then somehow piecing the flaxseed patches together with velcro like a patchwork quilt, except to fashion them into a "cover" to envelop my head.

Note I already fashioned something like the following toaster cover out of an old towel, and soaked the terrycloth with hot water to enfold my head in moist heat:
http://www.bedbathstore.com/flga2sltoco.html

So here's what I'd try IF I had a flaxseed patchwork cover:

(1) The hot-moist towel-cover over my entire head (which I already have)

(2) On top of that, a large plastic bag to insulate the hot-towel (which I already have, but it wasn't enough to keep the hot-towel warm)

(3) on top of the moist-towel-plus-plastic, I could then enfold the patchwork flax-seed cover (after microwaving it, of course).

Re: Sunlight LCD :)

more infos here :
http://www.aispro.com/Sunlight_Readable.asp

There are some laptop computers available with this option (Toshiba "portege" series , some Dell and LG, Pixel QI in the future).

In theory all display can be transflective,LCD-television and desktop monitor too.
Maybe it's too early but as "green" technology, it will have a quick developpement.

For now, I don't have a room with a suffisent ambiant light to use it, so i keep my led projector. But my next laptop will probably have this option.

Sorenz, thanks for the links (even if they're over my head).

I think the followup question here needs to be:

Does transflective light have electromagnetic fields? After all, sunlight has EMFs, so if the power harnessed from it (or other light) is so strong as to be operable as an LCD, might that not be strong enough to actually be EMFs?

The bottom line is, you really can't know unless you try it, and try it for an extended time period to rule out placebo effect.

I remember reading (either in Black On White, or else Invisible Disease) that a highly electrosensitive woman couldn't even tolerate sunlight which penetrated via a solid brick wall!! It sounded incredible to me, like the princess & pea fairytale. It seems, though, that legends are based on real life, just as porphyria victims are real life vampires.
