controling flys in the milking parlour

Its that time of year again and them pesky flys have appeared in my milking parlour, making me and the cows bad tempered! Any tips on controling them or even better, keeping them out of the parlour altogether?
We've tried spot-on and it only makes a slight difference, and i hate using fly spray, if it kills them, what is it doing to you?

Spot-on works relatively good for us. I was told a fan in the parlour reduces flies drastically.

try a wall of water we use sprayer nozzles from above and from the side at a low level to go under the cow this is in door were they come in.it sprays a mist of water which stops the flys coming in with cows

Hello, in our old parlour we had a spray boom, it worked well but your parlor reall needs a ceiling or a smallish entrance. Other problems are cows like it and stand under it, we had to chase them out from it. And i dont really like milking wet cows.
When we moved into our new parlour we couldnt do this so looked for a alternative.

And found a amazing machine its a still petrol powered leaf blower with a nozel on it for spraying stuff. I think its ment for fogging orchards. But anyway its fantastic, we spray for flys every 2-3days now, and it just massacars them, we only use 10% of the fly spray we used to and the cows are much happier! Could not reccomend it highly enough!
