Parade of Perfection
Who's going to the sale? What is your choice if you were going to purchase at this sale? Should be a high gross/avg sale. Catalog is online at Holstein World.

Re: Parade of Perfection
I like lots 9, the Shottle from the Raes and lot 30 the Shottle from the Alicia family. They will probally sell high but will be money makers.

Could anyone hazard a guess to what they think the Alicia daughters will make or the calf from Apple?

Re: Parade of Perfection
couple of updates:
Talent X Apple $170,000 to Kingsmill & Iagers
Lot #1 Durhams X Alicia $157,000
Talent calf was nice but not sure if she'll win Madison.
Most exciting sale I've ever been to, including Hanover Hill and Hilltop. Lots of buzz, people and plenty of Money going around. Goldwyns and Advents all looked great.

Re: Parade of Perfection
Was there anything at reasonable money? What about the Toystory, Advents from Alicia and the Dundee x Goldwyn x Alicia?

Re: Parade of Perfection
I heard the Goldwin out of Lustre brought 30,000. Which is reasonable considering what some of the other calves brought.

Re: Parade of Perfection
I've heard that the 190,000 calf was a legitimate sale too. Which has me wondering what makes Apple that much more valuable than Alicia or Lustre or any other of the cows represented at the sale. If the three buyers wanted to throw that much cash at something why not buy Lyster Beauty. At least you know she has a good udder.

Parade of Perfection
nah we got lots 35 and 85. lot 35 is a damian out of alicias clone and 85 is a roy out of the trilogy cow. we dont think either will be a big time show calf but both were cheap and you cant really put a price on a good pedigree

Parade of Perfection
i think 35 was 8400 and 85 was 6400. we woukd have loved to brought home the goldwin out of lustre. we bought a dundee out of her champion daughter last year and it is just a monster that eats like a horse.

Style: Which Trilogy cow? Not Indianhead Marker Trilogy?
Did anyone see the Goldwyn heifer x Alicia? Surely her first choice by Dundee was cheap at 9200??

Parade of Perfection
yah the roy calf should be a pretty good lil calf. the only problem is we took her home and put her in with our red september calf and she was about 3 inches short. if i remember right trillium sold for like 36,900. i dont have the book infront of me. i think alot of the alicia stuff on the sale was cheap because there was just a huge abundance of it there. if you sent one alicia choice 2 a sale people would go crazy. but if there is a whole sale of offspring that will kinda bring the demand down

Parade of Perfection
oh man that is a hard one. but id have to say rally becuase she was selling with like 48,000 in contracts and has never had a calf sell for under 20,000 and she flushes 10-15 eggs and the fact that you get that good of a cow. some of the heifers may be able to make more but thats a gamble you may buy a calf and she may never breed

Parade of Perfection
I made it to the sale late - had to pull a calf - bull , dangit. I was impressed and amazed at the crowd and the cattle looked great. WIll be interesting to see ho wmany of htose high sellers can make the new owners money. It is great to see our kind of cattle worth a lot of money. Congrats to the Butler's and all who made the sale unbelievable.
